Minna Hint in Wales

In cooperation with Centre for Contemporary Arts, Estonia, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery has commissioned Minna Hint to make new work to celebrate 60 years of the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts and also as part of the Walestonia festival. According to the gallery, the project includes an exhibition at the gallery from 26th September until 23 November 2008 and an off-site project on 5 October - both revolve around her recent interest in an enigmatic underground music scene. Minna Hint uses a documentary style approach to create video installations. Through her work she often explores alternative lifestyles and communities. After a three-week journey in a camper van in Wales she presents us people met along the way. The installation involves one large projection of her film - her conversations and observations and she has also invited her “characters” to show their own work (they are artists, VJ’s etc). The film was edited in London by Maxim Šurin.

With the support of Centre for Contemporary Arts, Estonia, Marko Mäetamm and Neeme Külm are also working with Locws International to create temporary visual arts projects for public and accessible spaces across the city of Swansea in 2009.
