Cesis Art Festival 2011
On 23 July the opening of CĒSIS 2011 ART FESTIVAL took place in Cēsis, which included an exhibition of contemporary art from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia titled INTERSTICE. Center for Contemporary Arts, Estonia acts as a partner institution of the festival in Estonia.
The term of INTERSTICE is inspired by reading “Relational Aesthetics” (1998) by Nicolas Bourriaud: “The interstice is a space in human relations which fits more or less harmoniously and openly into the overall system, but suggests other trading possibilities than those in effect within this system.”
