Samma & Toomik at Rauma Biennale Balticum 2010
Center for Contemporary Arts, Estonia announces the opening of Rauma Biennale Balticum 2010 on the 11th of June 2010. The exhibition, which is presenting contemporary art of the Baltic Sea region, is arranged by the Rauma Art Museum and it exhibits many artists from the Baltic Sea states, including Jaanus Samma (http://www.fontaine.pri.ee/portfoolio/index_est.html) and Jaan Toomik (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaan_Toomik) from Estonia.
The topical theme of the exhibition, “What’s Up Sea?” is about sea and especially the Baltic Sea, its history and current state with emphasis on ecologic viewpoints. There will be artworks about sea, maritime nature and water and the relationship of human life and sea and the crucial role of the seas in maintaining life in general.
